World record holder Spanish mountaineer to have ascended ten mountains of more than 8,000 meters after turning 60.

Carlos Soria Fontan, a mountaineer known as Spanish Sherpa, has said that Nepal is his second home. Speaking at an interaction program organized by Europe Nepal Chamber of Commerce for Tourism on Saturday, he said that he has always loved the intimacy of Nepal and Nepalis. He said that he would help in the promotion of Nepal's mountaineering and tourism. Interacting through virtualization, he suggested focusing on waste management in Nepal's mountains. Carlos Soria Fontan, an 81-year-old mountaineer known as the Spanish Sherpa, has climbed more than 8,000 meters in the world, including Nepal. Carlos, who has climbed many mountains in Nepal, including Everest, has not been able to climb Dhaulagiri. An earlier attempt at the age of 79 was unsuccessful. He said that it was not possible last year due to corona and at the age of 81 he planned to climb Dhaulagiri again. Ekraj Giri, Director, Networking and Public Relations, Europe Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, said that the interaction was aimed at promoting Nepal's mountaineering and supporting Nepal's tourism expansion and development.
